For the Blu-ray Disc launch of MEGAMIND featuring Dolby TrueHD 7.1, Dolby hosted a VIP event at our Burbank screening room. Dolby’s Craig Eggers was joined by MEGAMIND Supervising Sound Editor Erik Aadahl and top bloggers in the hi-fi space. For this screening, MEGAMIND was projected in Blu-ray to demonstrate Dolby TrueHD technology. This title is monumental for Dolby, if not the entire industry—MEGAMIND from DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount is the first movie to utilize Dolby Surround 7.1 in the cinema as well as Dolby TrueHD 7.1 for Blu-ray Disc. It’s another great example of how Dolby delivers great entertainment experiences on multiple screens. In this video, Craig hosts a Q&A with Erik in which the pair discuss the making of MEGAMIND, industry influences and the importance of 7.1.
