SoundWorks Collection: The Sound of Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Director Michael Bay and Producer Steven Spielberg return this summer for the third film in the Transformers franchise, Tranformers: Dark of the Moon. The amazing visual effects in this film are complemented by the talented efforts of the sound team including Re-recording Mixers Greg Russell and Jeff Haboush, and Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designers Ethan Van der Ryn, and Erik Aadahl.

This is the first 3D film of the series and will also be presented in regular 2D, Real D 3D and IMAX, featuring Dolby Surround 7.1 sound.

Erik Aadahl and Dolby’s Craig Eggers Talk Dolby TrueHD 7.1 on Megamind [Part 1]

For the Blu-ray Disc launch of MEGAMIND featuring Dolby TrueHD 7.1, Dolby hosted a VIP event at our Burbank screening room. Dolby’s Craig Eggers was joined by MEGAMIND Supervising Sound Editor Erik Aadahl and top bloggers in the hi-fi space. For this screening, MEGAMIND was projected in Blu-ray to demonstrate Dolby TrueHD technology. This title is monumental for Dolby, if not the entire industry—MEGAMIND from DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount is the first movie to utilize Dolby Surround 7.1 in the cinema as well as Dolby TrueHD 7.1 for Blu-ray Disc. It’s another great example of how Dolby delivers great entertainment experiences on multiple screens.
