Sound is not music and voice only. The ambiances, how the mechanic work’s, the field recording, the sound FX design, the foley, etc…. We have to educate poeple, has professionnel, that sound his more than music and voice. It’s a complexe balance between all those elements, and SKYRIM fail on the mix of these elements. I simply lower the music, and the immersion was cranking up a lot. Music break’s immersion.
Mario, I agree to an extent. I really wish that this mini documentary could have gone more into the sound design and foley work of the game. I do, however, believe that music and atmosphere can work hand-in-hand very well together. Have you ever heard the soundtrack? The actual physical album comes with a disc of pure atmosphere/foley and gentle ambient music. It's one of the best listens I've ever had and greatly recommend it.
